We're expanding our elite team of independent contractors in the Tulsa, OK area to deliver Field Level Maintenance (FLM) support for major clients like Orange Business, Google and Meta. This is a high-impact gig opportunity with immediate work available

•area data centers on an as-needed basis. This includes hardware replacements, troubleshooting, and installations for next business tickets (90%) and urgent tickets under a 4-hour SLA (10%). Work is gig-based with flexible scheduling, but we need reliable techs ready to respond within 4 hours for pending client requests. Local travel within 200 miles is required. All charges include expenses like tools and transportation.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. No employment relationship is established with Hype Telecom, LLC. You will operate as your own business entity, responsible for your own taxes, insurance, and compliance with all applicable laws. No benefits, overtime, or employee perks are provided. •gigs depend on client demand. Project Overview We are looking for an Field Technician to perform fiber patching and labeling at a network site in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The activity involves installing 4 fiber patches, properly labeling the jumpers, cleaning and inspecting the fiber connections, and providing all required completion documentation and photos. •Leave hanging Technician must: Install the fiber jumpers according to the provided demarc information. Verify the correct ports before making any connections. Properly label each jumper according to the provided jumper label and A-Z demarc. Use LC/UPC fiber jumpers for the hanging connections. Hanging jumper length must be rack height + 1 meter. Coil hanging jumpers above the rack. Clean and inspect all fiber jumpers before connection. Label the patching on both ends. Take clear photos of completed patching and labels whenever feasible. Complete all required closeout documentation. Required Experience Fiber optic patching LC/UPC fiber connections Fiber cleaning and inspection Fiber jumper installation Fiber labeling Fiber patch panels and demarc identification Data center or telecom environments Technical documentation and closeout procedures Required Tools Technician must bring: Laptop and charger Smartphone with camera Reliable mobile hotspot / internet connection Standard fiber/network technician toolkit Fiber inspection scope Fiber cleaning kit LC-compatible One Click Cleaner Appropriate fiber cleaning sticks Fiber cleaning wipes / Kim Wipes or equivalent Label printer / labeler Sufficient labels / label cartridges Standard data center hand tools LC/UPC fiber jumpers may also be required. Technician must confirm availability prior to the service date. Required Documentation Photo leaving home with timestamp showing date, time, and GPS location/address. Photo upon arrival onsite with timestamp showing date, time, and GPS location/address. Photos of work being performed. Clear photos of completed fiber patches and labels. Complete the MSVR report onsite before leaving. Complete the required customer closeout form. Photo when leaving the site with timestamp showing date, time, and GPS location/address. Photo upon returning home with timestamp showing date, time, and GPS location/address. Submit all photos with the completed MSVR and work completion documentation. Important Notes All fiber connections must be cleaned and inspected before patching. Technician must verify all ports before making connections and properly label both ends of every jumper. Hanging LC/UPC jumpers must be coiled above the rack according to the provided instructions. The required closeout form and MSVR must be completed onsite before leaving. Technician must remain onsite until the remote support team confirms completion and authorizes departure.

Requirements:

Proven hands-on experience in data centers with FLM or field technician roles

•must have at least 2 years in hardware/software support environments. Expert proficiency with testing tools, including OTDR, optical power meter, fiber cleaning kit, volt meter, and loopback kits (DDS/T1/DS3). Strong knowledge of networking, cabling (Cat6, fiber

LC/SC/FC

), hardware installations, and data center safety protocols. Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and ability to travel within 200 miles. Availability for immediate start

•must respond to tickets within 4 hours and work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends/OOH. High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Fiber Optic Association, Orange ASP) highly preferred. Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in secure environments, and provide your own tools/PPE (full list upon application). Access to laptop with terminal emulation (e.g., PuTTY), mobile internet, and ability to install freeware like Cisco VPN/Skype for remote support. Rules and Expectations for Contractors (Must Agree to Comply): To ensure elite performance and compliance with hyperscale standards, all contractors must adhere to the following:

Confidentiality and Security:

Sign an NDA upon acceptance; comply with cyber security protocols (e.g., no unauthorized access, firewall/antivirus on devices) and incident reporting (24/7 line for accidents/near misses). Breaches may result in 100% callout deduction and suspension.

Compliance and Liability:

Maintain your own business insurance (general liability recommended), workers' comp if applicable, and comply with MA/federal laws (e.g., IRS 1099 rules). You are solely responsible for taxes and personal expenses.

Performance Standards:

Meet 4-hour SLAs for on-site arrival; provide pre/post-work photos and valid training certs. Failure (e.g., missing tools/PPE) may deduct 100% costs or terminate gigs.

Tools and Equipment:

Provide all required tools (e.g., screwdrivers, pliers, anti-static gear, fiber cables) and unbranded PPE (Hi-Vis, goggles, gloves, hard hat); reimbursements case-by-case.

Reporting and Communication:

WhatsApp group chat. No-shows impact future gigs.

Independent Status:

Do not represent as Hype Telecom employee; all work at-will.
