Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Generator Technician - Installer to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining home standby generators and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in small engines, automotive repair, equipment repair, and electrical wiring, with the ability to interpret schematics/manuals, be conscientious, and work with various tools. This position requires the candidate to be familiar with the variety of products we offer and enjoy helping our clients.

Work Schedule:

4-Day work week Monday thru Friday (day off is based on company needs)

Start:

6am or 7am

End:

When the job is complete (12-14 hours days not unusual), Rotating on-call week with company provided vehicle. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair generators, including diesel engines and power systems Read and understand operating and troubleshooting manuals. Conduct heavy lifting and mechanical tasks involving hand tools, power tools, and other specialized machinery Diagnose issues using mechanical knowledge and diagnostic tools to ensure efficient operation Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and installation procedures clearly to clients Maintain detailed service records and reports for each job performed Ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations Requirements Minimum 21-Yrs. of age, with 2+ years of related experience Live within 1/2 hour drive of Irwin office Pass DOT Physical without restrictions, 2-Year certification preferred Valid/clean drivers license (min. 5 years experience), ability to back a trailer Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance Pass a company required physical, drug test and background check Lift 80 pounds regularly, bending, kneeling Work in extreme weather Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Benefits 8 Paid Standard Holidays/Year + Up to 2 Floating Holidays/yr Healthcare benefit 100% for employee and 50% for family Clothing & Cell phone allowance Company provided uniforms 100% Basic dental and vision for employee $20k term life insurance policy Accrue 2+ weeks of paid vacation/year Accrue up to 72 hours of sick time/year Experienced Generator Technicians with proven abilities starting $25-32/hr. with benefits.
