Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Job Description

RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Field Technician in Allentown, PA & Williamsport, PA. This is a full-time contract-to-hire Field Based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays. Overview of YOUR role as a Field Technician As a Field Technician, you will collect detailed technical information about utility and telecommunication facilities and equipment in an outdoor environment. You will gather field data including measurements, photographs, and notes to support electric projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work safely and independently, maintain equipment, and communicate effectively with management while representing our client professionally in the field. As a Field Technician YOU will:
  • Work in outdoor environments to collect detailed field data and measurements
  • Measure attachment heights, span distances, angles, and other technical specifications
  • Submit organized, detailed project data including maps, field notes, and digital images
  • Operate and maintain field equipment including tablet computers, digital cameras, and measuring tools
  • Maintain and properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Represent our client and customers professionally in the field
  • Communicate effectively and daily with the management team
  • Work safely and independently without direct supervision
  • Support electric and utility infrastructure projects YOU are the ideal Field Technician candidate if you have:
  • High School diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 2+ years of previous experience in electrical utilities (required)
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions (required)
  • Ability to actively participate in physically demanding work, lifting 15-20 lbs. on a regular basis (required)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills (required)
  • Ability to work safely and independently without supervision
  • Good communication skills with management and team members
  • Proficiency with basic computer equipment and digital cameras
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies It's a BONUS if you have:
  • Previous experience with utility data collection
  • Familiarity with measurement and survey equipment
  • Experience using tablet computers or mobile field data collection tools
  • Knowledge of utility infrastructure and facility standards
  • Additional years of electrical utility experience
