Remote work as needed Position Summary The IT Infrastructure & Network Deployment Technician is a core technical field resource responsible for executing physical network installations, site turn-ups, and hardware deployments for clients across the country. Working closely with our central engineering team, this role ensures hardware, cabling, and wireless infrastructures are installed securely, professionally, and strictly aligned with project specifications. This position involves frequent national commercial travel, independent field execution, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Field Operations & Infrastructure Deployment Execute physical site turn-ups, including installing wall-mounted racks, UPS systems, firewalls, switches, patch panels, and peripheral office equipment. Run, terminate (Cat6/Cat6A, keystone jacks, RJ45), label, and test commercial Ethernet cabling following industry standards and site floor plans. Mount Wi-Fi access points and determine optimal cable routing. Perform clean, professional rack cable management and accurately document network topologies, serial numbers, cable runs, and port maps. Connect ISP circuits and collaborate with service providers and internal engineering teams to validate connectivity. Conduct post-installation site walk-throughs, complete deployment checklists, capture site photo documentation, and assist remote engineers with local troubleshooting Process & Documentation Review project documentation, rack diagrams, and scope requirements prior to site visits to ensure execution accuracy. Identify on-site physical or environmental obstacles independently and collaborate with project managers and remote engineers to implement solutions. Maintain accurate, comprehensive records of site conditions, installed equipment, and post-deployment validation. Transport, maintain, and safeguard company-issued installation hand tools, power tools, and cable testing equipment. Collaboration & Standards Work seamlessly with remote network engineers to bridge physical field installations with logical software configurations. Represent the company on-site, serving as a professional point of contact for local client staff during deployments. Uphold strict quality control standards for cable organization, equipment mounting, and site cleanliness. Qualifications Experience 2+ years of hands-on experience in commercial IT infrastructure installation, structured cabling, or low-voltage deployments. Proven experience working independently on-site to handle physical deployments without step-by-step supervision. Prior MSP or field service experience preferred. Technical Skills Proficiency in running, terminating, and certifying Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A cabling (keystones, patch panels, RJ45 connectors). Basic understanding of physical network deployment (racks, cabinets, patch panels, UPS, wireless access points). Familiarity with common networking hardware platforms (e.g., Fortinet, WatchGuard, Aruba/HPE, Cisco/Meraki). Ability to interpret network diagrams, floor plans, port maps, and technical deployment guides.

Physical & Travel Requirements Travel:

Willingness and ability to undertake frequent national commercial travel (air travel, rental vehicles, overnight stays) for multi-day deployments, including occasional after-hours or weekend maintenance windows.

Physical Ability:

Able to lift and mount heavy equipment (racks, UPS units, switches), safely climb and work from ladders, pull cable through commercial spaces/drop ceilings, and operate standard hand/power tools.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Pay:

$42,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
