Our solutions include nurse call, resident safety technology, real-time location, wander management, fall detection, connected sensors, and other technologies designed to help communities provide safer and more responsive care. We are looking for a dependable, technically capable Part-Time Field Installation Technician to support customer installations and occasional on-site service visits throughout the Washington, DC metro area and surrounding region. This is an as-needed position with a variable schedule . Most assignments are expected to be local or regional, but occasional overnight travel or travel to projects elsewhere in the United States may be required. What You'll Do Travel to senior living communities to support new system installations, upgrades, and service visits Install, configure, and test Rythmos hardware, sensors, gateways, location devices, and related equipment Mount devices and equipment using basic hand and power tools Perform light cabling and connect networked or PoE devices when needed Follow floor plans, installation plans, checklists, and project documentation Test installed equipment and confirm proper system operation Troubleshoot basic hardware, connectivity, networking, and configuration issues Replace or service equipment during customer support visits Assist with equipment staging, inventory, labeling, and deployment logistics Document completed work accurately Communicate with Intrex technical and project teams throughout installations Provide friendly, professional support to community staff while on-site What We're Looking For Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new technology quickly Hands-on and mechanically inclined Comfortable using common hand tools, drills, ladders, and installation equipment Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Able to follow written installation instructions and technical documentation Comfortable working independently with limited on-site supervision Professional and comfortable interacting with customers Good verbal and written communication skills Flexible and able to adapt when project conditions change Willing and able to travel based on project needs Experience in any of the following is helpful, but not required: Field service or technical support Low-voltage systems Security or access control systems Nurse call systems Wi-Fi and Ethernet networking PoE devices IoT or connected devices AV or telecommunications Structured cabling Hardware installation or equipment deployment Cable, internet, or smart-home installation We are willing to train the right candidate. Technical aptitude, reliability, professionalism, and willingness to learn are more important to us than a specific degree or background. Physical Requirements Ability to walk throughout large senior living communities Ability to stand for extended periods during installations Ability to lift and carry approximately 40 pounds Comfortable working from ladders when required Comfortable performing hands-on installation work in occupied buildings Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Schedule & Travel This is a part-time, as-needed position rather than a fixed weekly schedule. Most assignments are expected to be within the Washington, DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland region . Depending on project needs, assignments may occasionally require driving several hours, overnight stays, or air travel to customer locations elsewhere in the United States. Installation projects may also involve several consecutive full workdays. Intrex covers or reimburses approved business travel expenses, including mileage and other applicable travel costs, in accordance with company policy. Compensation Starting at $28.00 per hour , based on experience and technical background. Candidates with previous field service, low-voltage, networking, access control, security, IoT, or related installation experience may qualify toward the upper end of the range. Why Join Intrex?
