WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Install, program, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair land mobile radio (LMR) systems and related communications equipment for public safety, healthcare, educational institutions, utilities, manufacturing, and other customer markets. Design and upgrade customer systems to the latest technologies and solutions. Conduct minor modifications to electronic circuitry per customer request and/or deploy factory software/firmware updates. Provide technical support and communicate effectively with customers regarding system performance, maintenance, and repair needs. Assist and collaborate well with the team, the Service Manager, and the customer. Complete service tickets, work orders, and technical documentation accurately and within established timelines. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and be mentored in new technology in communications and equipment. Adhere to company safety standards, quality requirements, and established service procedures. Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours emergency support as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM
At least two (2) years of experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile communications equipment. Experience operating testing equipment like spectrum analyzers, system analyzers, watt meters, TDRs, FDRs, and multi-meters. Understanding of / willingness to learn two-way radio theory. Experience with Motorola Solutions communication technologies or manufacturer competitors is a plus. Team-focused with a passion to meet customer needs. Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams. Associate degree in Electronics, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent combination of education, certifications, military training, and relevant experience will be considered. Valid driver's license required. Ability to pass applicable background screening, drug testing, and motor vehicle record requirements.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed. On-call for critical systems maintenance may be required. First shift hours are Monday-Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This role primarily supports customers throughout Georgetown, TX , and the surrounding areas. Traveling to job sites is required to meet company and customer needs. A company take-home vehicle is provided. Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that complies with the Company's policies and procedures.
