A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Texas Area Telecom is a leading provider of quality telecom infrastructure design and construction services, with headquarters in Austin, Texas. We're looking for smart, hard-working individuals who want to break into the telecom industry . This is a great entry-level opportunity for those eager to learn a new field and earn additional money with overtime .
Please Note:
This role requires 90% travel — you'll be on the road most of the time, working 10-14 days on-site, followed by 3+ days off. If you're not up for the travel commitment, this may not be the right fit. You must reside near Austin, to travel from the Austin airport.
What You'll Do:
Travel across the country supporting telecom infrastructure projects Work outdoors collecting field data (yes, you'll be on your feet and carrying light equipment—about 10 lbs) Keep your manager updated on progress and stay in touch with your team Learn the basics of telecom infrastructure design and construction with on-the-job training Use various apps and software to collect and maintain accurate data
What We're Looking For:
A strong work ethic and a self-starter attitude A willingness to travel extensively (90% of the time) Comfort working outdoors and walking several miles each day Effective communication skills Experience in telecom, construction, field data collection, or a related field is a plus—but we're happy to train the right candidate!
