The Opportunity Signal Cable Inc. is expanding its field operations and is looking for Fiber Network Technicians to support active telecommunications projects. The position combines hands-on fiber work with troubleshooting and ongoing network service, with technicians completing assignments at a variety of outdoor job sites and customer locations. A typical workday may involve placing or servicing fiber, completing splices, testing connections, identifying network problems, and performing maintenance or corrective work. Because assignments and field conditions can change throughout the day, technicians should be dependable, organized, and capable of making practical decisions while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. The position is offered as full-time W-2 employment and is intended for candidates interested in ongoing work and professional development within the telecommunications field. Working in the Field Technicians receive assigned work and are responsible for carrying each job through completion. This includes performing the technical work as well as recording the necessary job information, such as completed production, labor time, materials used, testing information, and other required documentation. Quality and safety are part of every assignment. Work must satisfy project specifications and company expectations while complying with applicable OSHA requirements and site-specific procedures. Any deficiencies discovered during the work should be corrected when appropriate, and property damage, service interruptions, safety concerns, or other field incidents must be reported without delay. Tools, materials, equipment, and vehicles used for company operations are expected to be handled responsibly and kept in serviceable condition. Who Fits This Role Previous experience with fiber infrastructure, telecommunications, broadband, construction, or other technical field work is an advantage. Candidates with experience around fiber installation, network systems, or similar communications infrastructure are particularly well suited for the position. The work requires practical mechanical ability and comfort using hand tools, field equipment, testing devices, and mobile technology. Technicians should also be able to troubleshoot problems, organize their workload, follow technical instructions, and complete assignments with limited supervision while still working effectively with the field team. A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to travel between assigned job locations. What You'll Need for Field Assignments Because this is a mobile field position, technicians must have access to a truck, van, or SUV appropriate for the work and maintain the tools required for their assigned activities. A professional appearance and appropriate conduct are expected when working at customer locations or representing Signal Cable Inc. Candidates must also satisfy applicable pre-employment requirements, including a background check and drug screening , in accordance with applicable law. How Compensation Works This position uses a production-based compensation structure , meaning earnings are influenced by the amount and type of completed work, available workload, project requirements, and individual productivity. Regardless of production volume, compensation practices are administered in accordance with applicable federal and state wage-and-hour requirements, including minimum-wage and overtime obligations.
