Full-Time Position Summary AK Technologies is seeking an experienced Field Technician Lead with advanced knowledge of enterprise commercial electronic security systems. This role serves as the senior technical authority on assigned job sites and is responsible for leading medium to large commercial security projects from installation through programming, commissioning, testing, and final customer turnover. The Field Technician Lead provides technical leadership to installation teams while independently programming enterprise security platforms, commissioning integrated systems, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to AK Technologies' quality standards. This position is ideal for technicians looking to advance beyond installation into enterprise-level system engineering, commissioning, and field leadership. Primary Responsibilities Enterprise Security Systems Independently program, configure, commission, and troubleshoot enterprise security systems. Configure enterprise databases and system architecture. Perform complete system bring-up and commissioning. Configure servers and third-party software applications. Deploy IP-based video surveillance solutions. Perform advanced software, hardware, and network troubleshooting. Resolve technical issues independently while providing field guidance to installation teams. QA/QC Daily GC-Super Coordination Time and Material sign-off

Closeout Technical Responsibilities:

The Field Technician Lead is responsible for independently programming, configuring, and commissioning multiple security platforms including: Enterprise Access Control IP Video Surveillance Intrusion Detection Systems Integrated Security Platforms Responsibilities include: Programming enterprise security systems across multiple manufacturer platforms Loading servers with required applications and security software Configuring databases and network communications Commissioning complete integrated security systems Conducting acceptance testing Performing advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting Providing technical support to field technicians Ensuring systems meet project specifications prior to turnover Project Leadership The Field Technician Lead serves as the on-site technical leader and is responsible for: Leading installation crews Running one to two properly staffed projects simultaneously Coordinating daily field activities Managing workflow and installation sequencing Monitoring labor performance Maintaining project schedules Assisting the Project Manager with manpower planning Monitoring project budgets and labor utilization Identifying project risks early Assisting with schedule recovery when necessary Quality Control Responsible for maintaining AK Technologies' installation standards by: Performing field quality inspections Verifying installation against approved drawings Reviewing project submittals prior to mobilization Ensuring workmanship meets company standards Completing punch lists Preparing projects for customer acceptance Supporting project closeout documentation Participating in project lessons learned meetings Customer Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical contact during commissioning. Conduct customer demonstrations and system acceptance testing. Coordinate final turnover activities. Maintain professional communication with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders. Represent AK Technologies professionally at all times. Team Leadership Provide leadership and mentorship by: Supervising Level I and Level II Field Technicians Training technicians on installation techniques Coaching technicians on programming fundamentals Developing troubleshooting skills within the field team Promoting continuous improvement Maintaining accountability for quality and productivity Required Qualifications / Education High School Diploma or GED required Technical or vocational education preferred Experience Minimum five (5) years of commercial electronic security or low-voltage installation experience Experience leading medium to large commercial projects Experience commissioning enterprise-level integrated security systems Strong understanding of IP networking concepts Proven leadership experience managing field installation teams Preferred Platform Experience Experience programming and commissioning one or more of the following: LenelS2 Brivo Avigilon Hanwha Vision Bosch Aiphone Milestone Open Options Required Certifications OSHA 30 State Security License Aerial Lift Certification Scissor Lift Certification Boom Lift Certification CPR Certification First Aid Certification Performance Expectations (KPIs) Success in this role is measured by: Successful completion of assigned projects on schedule Labor performance within budgeted hours Low punch-list and callback rates Quality installation scores Successful commissioning and customer acceptance Safety compliance Technician development and mentoring Accurate project documentation Positive customer feedback Why This Role Exists We are building a team capable of supporting enterprise-level, highly integrated security environments.
