It will entail travel client's service territory and may have odd hours of work (nights and weekends) support fiber outages. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from lead technician, manager and/or more experienced colleagues. Assists with installation and maintenance of field equipment with others. May perform final test, verify proper connection and release equipment for service. Interprets schematics, drawings and technical manuals necessary to install and repair equipment to specifications. Assists with providing proactive diagnostic and analytic measures to ensure system reliability and overall system health. Assists with advising on cost effective telecom solutions that meet stringent security and reliability requirements. Follows Telecom Incident and Change Management processes. Drafts, updates and follows detailed work instructions relating to telecom network maintenance. Must Have Two or more years of experience in telecommunications industry. Knowledge of fiber splicing and/or troubleshooting; OTDR, fiber characterization and other testing methods Knowledge of industry safety practice Cable Installation, Cable Splicing, Fibre Optic Splicing Dark Fiber Fiber deployment Fiber Splicing Outside Plant Skill in analyzing and solving complex problems Skill in verbal and written communication

Pay:

$35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Experience:

Telecom Technician:

: 4 years (Preferred)

Fiber Optics Splicing:

3 years (Preferred) Construction side Fiber optic: 1 year (Preferred)
