A Telecommunications Field Technician telecommunications Field Service Technician installs, repairs and maintains voice, data and video systems for a company's customers at the customer site. Prepares and documents a customer's network prior to implementing telecommunication system. Installs IP, network equipment and facilities. Acts as the first point of issue resolution, responds to field engineering issues and troubleshooting telecommunication problems. May train less experienced field technicians.

Full Job Description Job Overview:
Responsibilities :
Splice taps, actives, and nodes to specifications. Inside and outside plant. Prep, dress, and store coax cabling to specifications and assemble equipment according to design specifications Perform live cut-overs during maintenance hours Ability to troubleshoot damaged coax cable effectively and efficiently Proficient in using coax tools and test equipment including Viavi meter and OTDR. Ability to read, understand and update splice documentation and maps as required Perform other duties as required
Skills and Qualifications Required:
1-3 years of coax splicing and testing. Organized, with a strong attention to detail Ability to work independently or in a team environment & communicate professionally with co-workers and customers Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Requires a mixture of day and night work. Must have a Valid driver's license Be available for 7 day / 24-hour stand by on-call rotation as needed Ability and willingness to work long and unpredictable hours if required, including work after normal business hours in the event physical restoration of fiber plant is needed Ability to climb up and down ladders and operate a bucket truck is needed Willingness to operate within a schedule that is subject to inclement weather conditions
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
