Project:
Base Telecommunications System (BTS) Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Support We are seeking an OEM-certified Giant Voice Mass Notification Systems Technician to maintain, sustain, troubleshoot, repair, and modernize the Acoustic Technology, Inc. (ATI Brand) emergency notification and public address infrastructure at Goodfellow AFB, Texas. The technician will ensure 100% operational readiness of base-wide acoustic siren stacks, high-powered voice systems, central control stations, RF links, and auxiliary solar/battery power systems. Key Responsibilities & Duties Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs): Perform recurring monthly and quarterly PMIs across all ATI Giant Voice assets, including central control stations, power supplies (AC/DC converters and backup batteries), solar charging kits, RF antennas, acoustic speaker arrays, siren stacks, and system status interfaces[cite: 1, 2].
Acoustic & Sound Coverage Testing:
Conduct scheduled sound coverage, tone, and intelligibility testing across base operational zones and flightline perimeters to verify emergency broadcast reach[cite: 1, 2].
Component Repair & Replacement:
Diagnose, isolate, and replace faulty electro-acoustic components, including solar regulators, speaker drivers, speaker assemblies, line replaceable circuit cards (LRUs), transceivers, and enclosures.
Infrastructure Modernization:
Execute system modernization and upgrades, such as new pole and tower installations, circuit card upgrades, equipment enclosure replacements, and software/firmware patches.
Emergency Outage Restoration:
Support 24/7 restoral readiness:
Major Outages:
Acknowledge within 1 hour and achieve service restoral within 8 hours for outages affecting of Giant Voice towers/poles or any flightline-bordering sites.
Minor Outages:
Acknowledge within 8 hours and achieve service restoral within 2 calendar days.
Maintenance Data Documentation:
Record and log all PMIs, repairs, replacements, and trouble tickets into Department of the Air Force Automated Information Systems (AIS), including IMDS, CIPS, CVC, ServiceNow, and CAIRS.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to
DAFMAN 91-203
safety standards for working on elevated poles, towers, RF hazard areas, and subterranean junction boxes. And other duties as assigned. Required Special Certifications & Qualifications 1.
OEM & Industry Technical Certifications Primary OEM Credential:
ATI Systems Factory-Trained / Certified Field Technician (Direct certification from Acoustic Technology, Inc. covering ATI Central Control Station Software / REACT5000, high-powered siren/voice equipment, and line-replaceable units). Supporting /
Alternative Certifications:
ETA-I (Electronics Technicians Association International) certification (e.g., CET, Audio/Broadcast System Specialist), or formal manufacturer authorization letters documenting factory-level mass notification systems training. 2. Cybersecurity & DoW Credentials DoW Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) / DoW 8140: Active DoW 8140 / DCWF IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, SSCP, or equivalent) to qualify for administrative access on government unclassified network systems. 3.
Experience & Security Clearances Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in telecommunications installation, RF communications, or commercial/military mass notification systems maintenance.
Security Clearance & Base Access:
Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to undergo a favorable background check to obtain and maintain a Department of War Common Access Card (CAC). Physical /
Driver Requirements:
Valid Driver's License; ability to climb towers/poles, work in outdoor Texas weather conditions, and safely lift up to 50 lbs.
Compensation, SCA Wage Determination & Benefits Wage Compliance:
This position is covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA) Wage Determination No. 15-5251 for Tom Green County, Texas.
SCA Classification:
Electronics Technician Maintenance
II / III
(Labor Code 23182 / 23183) or Telecommunications Mechanic (Labor Code 23930).
Fringe Benefits & Pay Structure:
Fully compliant SCA hourly prevailing wage with overtime compensation per applicable labor laws. SCA Health & Welfare (H&W) hourly cash fringe benefit paid on all eligible hours worked.
