In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing underground fiber optic and cable drops that connect homes and businesses to our network infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure reliable connectivity for our customers by accurately executing cabling, and troubleshooting tasks in the field. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors with heavy equipment and cutting-edge technology, contributing directly to expanding our high-speed network services. Responsibilities Perform excavation, trenching, and burying of fiber optic cables and low voltage telecommunication lines using heavy equipment such as trenchers. Use hand tools and power tools to prepare trenches, install conduit systems, and secure cabling in various construction environments. Conduct testing of network infrastructure including Ethernet cables, LAN/WAN connectivity, and low voltage systems to verify proper operation. Document work progress through detailed reports, including installation logs, schematic references, and incident reports as needed. Skills Proven experience in field service operations within telecommunications or construction environments. Skilled in heavy equipment operation such as trenchers and power tools. Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques and telecommunication cabling standards. Experience with IT infrastructure installation or maintenance is a plus. Excellent hand tool proficiency along with safety-conscious approach to construction tasks.
