Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Radio Installer to join our dynamic telecommunications and vehicle electronics team. This role involves installing, configuring, and troubleshooting radio communication systems within various vehicle types, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with technical standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in telecommunications systems, electrical wiring, and network installation, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to clients. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects involving radio frequency testing, fiber optic systems, and advanced communication equipment, contributing to the seamless operation of critical vehicle communication networks. Responsibilities Install and configure vehicle radio communication systems, including radios, antennas, and related electronic components. Perform diagnostics and troubleshoot equipment issues using specialized tools such as ohmmeters, diagnostic software, and testing devices. Conduct fiber splicing and fiber optic systems installation to support high-speed data transmission within vehicles. Set up and test telecommunication systems including VoIP, Ethernet networks, Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and structured cabling. Implement low-voltage electrical wiring and cable termination techniques for reliable network connectivity. Interpret schematics and technical diagrams to ensure precise installation and maintenance of communication systems. Conduct RF testing to verify signal strength, quality, and compliance with industry standards. Utilize power tools and hand tools safely during installation processes while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and deliver excellent customer service throughout the project lifecycle. Skills Extensive knowledge of telecommunications testing equipment including diagnostic tools for system analysis. Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and network wiring. Experience with fiber splicing techniques and fiber optic systems installation. Familiarity with radio frequency (RF) testing methods for communication system validation. Strong understanding of low-voltage electrical systems including AC/DC power supply wiring. Ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams accurately. Hands-on experience with telephony systems like Avaya or similar platforms. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, multimeters, and telecommunications testing equipment. Knowledge of telecommunication standards related to structured cabling installation and cable termination. Service technician experience in installing or maintaining telecommunication or radio communication equipment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate information clearly. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in field service environments across diverse locations. This position is integral to maintaining reliable vehicle communication networks through precise installation and troubleshooting.
