About the role Insight Xcite is seeking a hands-on Field Engineer / Installer in Fairfax, Virginia, to support deployment, testing, repair, and maintenance of network and communications equipment. The role may require substantial domestic or international travel. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, test, and maintain routers, switches, servers, cabling, power systems, and related equipment. Perform site surveys and prepare installation plans, equipment lists, and readiness assessments. Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, power, and performance issues in field environments. Document configurations, test results, repairs, inventories, and site acceptance activities. Coordinate with customers and engineering teams and travel as required to support deployments. Required Qualifications Hands-on experience installing or maintaining network, communications, or IT infrastructure. Working knowledge of routers, switches, structured cabling, rack equipment, power systems, and test tools. Ability to troubleshoot independently, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate with customers. Ability and willingness to work onsite and travel domestically or internationally as mission needs require. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting secure government or mission environments. Experience with Cisco platforms, fiber optics, wireless systems, servers, or tactical communications. Relevant networking, electronics, cabling, or field-service certifications.
