Position Summary:
The Light Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing small to mid-sized equipment used in construction, landscaping, and other industrial applications. This position plays a key role in ensuring that equipment is safe, reliable, and available for rental or sale.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of light equipment, both gas
  • and diesel-powered engines, including pneumatic tools, towables and walk-behinds, to name a few.
Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure safe operation Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and labor hours Test and verify equipment performance after repairs are completed Collaborate with the parts department to order necessary components Ensure tools and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition Adhere to company safety policies and OSHA standards Assist with loading and unloading equipment as needed Provide field service support occasionally, depending on company needs Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting service manuals and schematics Strong customer service skills and a customer-centric approach Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Basic computer skills for logging service tickets and time
Education/Experience/Certifications:
High school diploma/GED and/or technical certification or trade school training is a plus Minimum 2 years of experience in equipment maintenance or mechanical repair Valid driver's
