Job Summary As a Shipping & Receiving Technician with SGPS ShowRig Los Angeles, Inc. , you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, condition, and timely flow of our rental gear. You will be responsible for both outbound and inbound equipment—inspecting, prepping, staging, loading, and receiving gear that supports world-class live events. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and pride in presentation. Key Responsibilities Shipping Duties Perform final quality checks on outgoing rental gear: inspect for damages, missing items, and labeling accuracy. Prep and stage gear according to pull tickets and loading schedules. Apply, replace, andmaintainproper labels and barcodes for tracking accuracy.
Assistin load-out:
safely load and secure trucks,operatedocks and gates, and confirm shipments leave on time. Maintain staging zones, loading docks, and work areas ina cleanand safecondition. Support warehouse projects, mock-ups, or client tours as directed by management. Receiving Duties Process rental gear upon return, ensuringtimelycheck-in and verification of quantities. Conduct thorough inspections of incoming gear for damage, noting issues and notifying the Project Manager for billing purposes. Record discrepancies, damages, and adjustments in the inventory system accurately. Collaborate with the Receiving Manager to organize returned equipment and enforce quality control standards. Ensure all returned gear is tagged, labeled, and stored in proper locations within the warehouse. Assistin reconciling inventory records and resolving discrepancies promptly. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Previousexperience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred (entertainment/event rental industry experiencea plus). Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow pull tickets and document discrepanciesaccurately. Familiarity with inventory management systems orabilityto learn quickly. Safety-first mindset and ability to adhere to warehouse procedures. Reliable, punctual, anda collaborativeteam player. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-75 lbs on a regular basis. Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods of time. Ability to maneuver carts, pallets, and gear through the warehouse and onto trucks safely. Manual dexterity to handle tools, labels, barcodes, and rental equipment with precision. Comfortable working in varyingwarehouseand dock temperatures. Must be able to safelyoperatearound forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (certification/training provided ifrequired). As a Backup driver , you will occasionally be asked to drive a company vehicle or truck. There will be added compensation while performing truck driving duties. This is not your primary responsibility but to be qualified to perform these duties you must: Key Responsibilities Safelyoperatea box truckto make local deliveries and pickupsin accordance withestablished schedules. Plan and execute efficient delivery and pickup routes to minimize delays and maximize productivity. Assistwith loading and unloading trucks when needed, ensuring all items are properly secured for transport. Maintainaccuraterecords of deliveries and pickups, obtainingsignaturesand documenting discrepancies. Communicate promptly with the Logistics Managerregardingchallenges or schedule changes. Ensure compliance with all traffic laws andcompany safety standards at all times. Perform routine inspections of the box truck, reporting maintenance issues promptly. Respond professionally to customer inquiries or concerns during deliveries. Support other reasonable tasks assigned by management to enhance transportation operations. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record, meeting all legal and company requirements. Mustbe willing to have flexible hours, willing to work early mornings, late evenings and weekends. Prior experience operating box trucks or similar vehicles. Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations. Excellent organizational skills to manage routes and schedules. Strong attention to detail formaintainingrecords and documentation. Effective communication skills to interact with customers, vendors, and team members. Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance procedures. Flexibility toworkvariable schedules asrequired. Willingness to complete required training or certifications. High school diploma or equivalent required. Working Conditions This position is performed in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature fluctuations, frequent exposure to noise, dust, and moving equipment. Shift schedules may include early mornings, late evenings, or weekends depending on business needs.
