Inboard Diesel Engines and Marine Systems Position Overview The Marine Service Tech is responsible for the maintenance and repair of inboard diesel engines as well as a variety of marine systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trouble shooting and repair of diesel marine engines, generators, propulsion systems, and general vessel operating systems. The position requires excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. As a Diesel Service Technician, you will be responsible for trouble shooting and performing repairs on vessels according to the work orders provided, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Previous marine inboard diesel and marine systems experience is required.
Responsibilities:
Trouble shoot repairs and coordinate work order origination with the Service Manager Perform Repairs According to
Work Orders:
Complete all assigned repairs on boats according to the specifications and timelines outlined in the work orders.
Ensure Quality of Work:
Follow proper repair procedures and maintain high standards of workmanship to ensure customer satisfaction. Report on
Issues or Delays:
Notify the Service Manager if there are any issues or delays with the repair process that require assistance or that could impact the completion time. Maintain a
Clean Work Environment:
Keep the work area clean and organized, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored when not in use.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a marine diesel engine technician with a strong understanding of marine systems and equipment is required. Factory training is desired. Ability to work independently and as part of a team and occasionally on weekends during season. General knowledge of marine electrical, mechanical systems, and propulsion is a plus.
Pay:
$33.00 - $43.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
