Job Description

Entry-Level Marine Technician Chesapeake Yacht Center is currently seeking an Entry-Level Marine Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who has a strong interest in boats, enjoys hands-on work, and is looking to build a career in the marine service industry. The Entry-Level Marine Technician will assist experienced technicians with boat maintenance, repairs, commissioning, decommissioning, and general service work. This role is designed for someone who is mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and willing to develop skills in marine systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and related equipment. Responsibilities Assist with routine maintenance and inspections on marine systems and equipment. Help diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, steering, and propulsion systems under the guidance of experienced technicians. Use hand tools and power tools safely to assist with repairs, maintenance, and installations. Support new boat commissioning, including hull work, systems checks, and general preparation. Assist with spring commissioning and fall decommissioning on power boats. Keep accurate notes on work performed, parts used, time spent, and additional repairs needed. Communicate clearly with team members to help ensure work is completed correctly and on time. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Learn how to read and understand technical manuals, schematics, and service procedures. Technical and Physical Requirements Prior marine experience is helpful but not required. Basic mechanical ability and willingness to learn. Interest in boats, engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and general marine equipment. Strong problem-solving mindset. Good communication skills. Positive attitude and desire to learn new technologies and skills. Flexible, goal-oriented, and team-focused. Ability to lift 50 lbs., occasionally more. Pay:
$40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
