Job Description
Beltsville Construction Supply has been a trusted local supplier of outdoor power equipment, lawn and garden tools, and construction equipment for decades. We sell, service & rent top brands such as Stihl, Husqvarna, Toro, Honda, and more - providing reliable equipment solutions and exceptional customer support. We're a low-key, supportive team that values quality work and great service. We're looking for an Entry Level Mechanic to join our service department in Beltsville, MD . In this role, you'll perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of small engines and construction equipment as well as maintain and service rental equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, learning new skills, and contributing to a team environment. What's In It for You Competitive entry level hourly pay: $18-$22/hour Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and sick time Opportunity to work with top equipment brands and grow your mechanical skillset Supportive, low-key work environment where your contributions are valued What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines and construction equipment (Briggs & Stratton, Honda, Kawasaki, Kohler, Husqvarna, Stihl, Toro, etc.) Operate and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment needed to perform daily tasks Look up and verify parts pricing Create new part numbers when needed Prepare parts and repair quotes for customer approval Call customers for quote approval and to notify them when equipment is ready for pickup Keep accurate records of labor hours, parts used, and work performed Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Participate in manufacturer training to build technical knowledge and stay current on equipment updates Follow all safety guidelines and company procedures Complete required documentation and work orders in a timely manner Perform additional related duties as assigned by the manager What We're Looking For High School Diploma or equivalent 1+ years of experience performing service repairs (or strong mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn) Experience working with outdoor power equipment, lawn equipment, or small engines preferred Ability to read wiring diagrams and accurately document all parts and labor Basic computer skills for parts lookup and repair documentation Strong teamwork, communication skills, and self-motivation Ability to operate diagnostic tools and equipment Valid driver's license required; forklift license a plus Additional Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Driving record that meets insurance requirements Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate (if required)
