Marine Mechanic Maryland Boat Sales- Essex, MD Job Summary:

Maryland Boat Sales is seeking an experienced Marine Mechanic to join our full-service marina and boatyard team in Essex, MD. As a key member of our service department, you will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of marine engines and vessels to ensure our customers enjoy reliable and safe boating experiences. We are looking for more than a "Parts Changer", we need someone who can solve complex mechanical problems independently.

Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose, service, and repair marine engines including outboard, inboard, and sterndrive systems Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, and winterization/de-winterization Troubleshoot electrical, fuel, cooling, and hydraulic systems Install and repair propellers, rigging, and other marine components Test engines and vessels on water for performance verification Maintain accurate service records and communicate effectively with customers and team members Assist with boat hauling, launching, and yard operations as needed

Requirements:

Minimum 3+ years of hands-on marine mechanic experience Factory certification in one or more of the following: Yamaha, Suzuki, Mercury, Volvo Penta, or Mercruiser. If not certified, willingness to become certified. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions
