Position Summary Performs routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on marine engines, vessels, and related mechanical systems under the direction of a senior mechanic or supervisor. The position is suitable for someone with hands-on marine mechanical experience who may not yet hold formal certifications. Key Responsibilities Assist with servicing and repairing marine engines and mechanical systems. Perform routine oil changes, filter replacements, inspections, tune-ups, and preventive maintenance. Assist with engine removal, installation, and related repairs. Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical issues. Assist with fuel, cooling, exhaust, steering, and propulsion systems. Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely. Follow manufacturer service procedures and instructions from senior technicians. Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas. Document work performed and parts or materials used. Assist senior mechanics with larger repairs and complicated diagnostic work. Learn and develop skills through hands-on training and on-the-job experience. Follow all workplace safety procedures and applicable marine regulations. Qualifications Previous marine, automotive, diesel, mechanical, or related hands-on experience preferred. Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools. Willingness to learn and develop marine repair skills. Ability to follow technical instructions and work safely. Good troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently on routine tasks while knowing when to seek assistance.

Pay:

$25.00 - $35.00 per hour
