This position serves as one of Boyne Boat Yard's senior technical resources, combining advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, major engine replacements, custom retrofits, whole-vessel system integration, and technical leadership that help deliver exceptional customer experience. Compensation Compensation is negotiable based on directly related experience, certifications, technical expertise, leadership, problem-solving ability, and demonstrated performance. The anticipated hiring range is $32-$40+ per hour. Qualified candidates may also be considered for a signing bonus and relocation assistance. Lead complex repairs, major engine replacements, custom retrofits, and whole-vessel modifications while evaluating how each repair or upgrade affects the vessel's overall performance, reliability, safety, and customer experience. Recognize and analyze complex technical challenges, identify root causes, develop practical repair strategies, and collaborate with the Project Manager to recommend solutions that balance quality, craftsmanship, project timelines, and customer expectations. Read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, construction drawings, technical specifications, wiring diagrams, manufacturer documentation, and installation instructions to plan and execute advanced repairs, custom installations, and system modifications. Plan, coordinate, and successfully lead projects of up to approximately 160 labor hours while maintaining quality workmanship, productivity, communication, and accurate documentation. Estimate labor, identify required materials and parts, document completed work, and communicate project status with the Project Manager and customers as needed. Serve as a senior technical resource by mentoring technicians, sharing best practices, assisting with advanced diagnostics, and fostering a culture of craftsmanship, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Assist with launching, hauling, transporting, and boat handling. Preferred Qualifications Seven (7) or more years of directly related marine technician experience. Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex marine system issues. Experience with major engine replacements, custom retrofits, and whole-vessel integration. Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and systems integration skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Valid driver's license.
