Job Summary The Small Engine Mechanic Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines, power equipment, and construction tools to ensure safe and reliable operation. This position performs inspections, identifies mechanical issues, completes routine maintenance, and communicates repair needs while supporting overall shop efficiency and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and operational issues on small engines and equipment.
  • Performs repairs on 4-cycle engine products, power tools, and construction equipment.
  • Inspect incoming equipment and identify required service or replacement parts.
  • Disassemble and reassemble engines, motors, and equipment components as needed.
  • Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation and safety.
  • Maintain accurate repair records, parts usage, and service documentation.
  • Communicate timelines, part needs, and service recommendations to management or customers.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas within the shop.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and operational guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualfications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of mechanical repair, maintenance, or related hands-on equipment experience
  • Basic knowledge of small engine systems, mechanical components, and repair tools.
  • Ability to trouble shoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple repairs and prioritize workload.
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous small engine repair or outdoor equipment experience.
  • Experience working on generators, compressors, concrete saws, power tools, or construction equipment.
  • Knowledge of gasoline engines, electrical starters, carburetors, belts, and hydraulic components.
  • Manufacturer certifications or vocational mechanical training.
Pay:
$24.00 - $27.00 per hour
