Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Marine Outboard Technician/Mechanic specializing in Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki engines. This energetic role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of water transportation equipment, providing expert maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical background, excellent electrical diagnostics skills, and a passion for marine technology. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on outboard motors from Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki brands using schematics and technical manuals Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, spark plug replacements, and system inspections to optimize engine performance Troubleshoot electrical systems using multimeters, ohmmeters, and wiring diagrams to identify faults in marine electrical systems Repair and fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, sheet metal work, soldering techniques, and precision measuring instruments like calipers Interpret technical drawings and schematics to accurately assemble or disassemble engine components and electrical systems Maintain watercraft propulsion systems by inspecting, repairing, and replacing mechanical parts such as gears, shafts, and propellers Ensure compliance with safety standards by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) during all maintenance procedures while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and hazardous materials Qualifications Proven experience as a marine service technician or mechanic with a focus on outboard engines from Yamaha, Honda, or Suzuki brands Strong mechanical knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical diagnostics, and ship electrical systems maintenance Familiarity with schematics interpretation, electrical troubleshooting, fabrication techniques including welding and sheet metal work Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, calipers, soldering equipment, ohmmeters, and maintenance of mechanical systems Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients Knowledge of maintenance repair operations (MRO), marine electrical systems troubleshooting, assembly processes, and engineering troubleshooting methods Experience working with water transportation equipment or diesel mechanics is highly desirable Relevant certifications in vehicle or marine engine repair are preferred; military background with technical training is a plus Join our team to be part of an exciting industry where your expertise keeps watercraft safe on the water!
