Marine Mechanic About the Position J.E. Marine Repair is looking for an experienced, dependable, and motivated Marine Mechanic to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys diagnosing and solving mechanical problems, and can work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Experienced marine technicians are encouraged to apply, but we will also consider qualified mechanics with backgrounds in automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, or industrial repair. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gasoline and diesel marine engines Perform routine maintenance, inspections, winterization, and seasonal service Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, steering, cooling, fuel, and propulsion systems Install, replace, and rig marine equipment and accessories Perform engine installations, repowers, and major repair projects Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments Accurately document repairs, diagnostics, and recommendations Communicate repair findings and needed work with customers and the service team Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices Qualifications Previous experience as a Marine Mechanic, Marine Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or in a similar mechanical position Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of gasoline and/or diesel engines Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical information Ability to work independently and efficiently Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment Valid driver's license preferred What We Offer $20-$50 per hour based on experience and qualifications Full-time, year-round employment Opportunities for training and career advancement Work on a wide variety of boats, engines, and marine systems Modern tools, equipment, and diagnostic technology Supportive, team-oriented work environment Join Our Team If you're an experienced mechanic looking for a long-term opportunity in the marine industry, we'd like to hear from you.
