Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Marine Technician, where your expertise will keep water transportation equipment operating at peak performance. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of marine systems and machinery. Your skills will ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of vessels and related equipment, supporting our commitment to excellence in marine operations. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections and troubleshooting of marine electrical and mechanical systems using schematics and technical drawings. Conduct maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) of marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to diagnose issues related to ship electrical systems, marine propulsion, and mechanical components. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) diligently during all maintenance activities to ensure safety standards are met. Assist with water transportation equipment maintenance including diesel mechanics tasks and heavy lifting operations. Collaborate with team members on assembly projects or fabrication tasks involving marine electrical and mechanical systems. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document troubleshooting procedures for future reference. Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status clearly and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the maintenance process. Experience Proven service technician experience in marine or heavy machinery environments is highly preferred. Strong electrical experience including diagnostics, troubleshooting marine electrical systems, and interpreting schematics. Hands-on experience with marine engine repair, propulsion systems maintenance, and mechanical systems repair. Familiarity with water transportation equipment maintenance such as diesel engines and hydraulic rigging systems. Knowledge of ship electrical systems troubleshooting combined with mechanical knowledge for comprehensive diagnostics. Experience working with technical drawings, schematics, fabrication techniques, welding, soldering, and sheet metal work. Ability to operate power tools safely while adhering to safety protocols; experience with calipers and other precision instruments is advantageous. Military background or certifications can be a plus due to the disciplined approach to maintenance procedures. Strong customer service skills paired with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely are essential for success in this role.
