Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Small Engine Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining small engines and equipment with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance of a wide range of machinery, including lawnmowers, generators, power tools, other small engine-powered equipment, as well as electric powered equipment. Duties Diagnose complex issues in small engines and related mechanical systems using schematics, diagnostic tools, and electrical testing equipment. Perform repairs on small engines, including engine overhaul, carburetor cleaning, services, and hydraulic system repairs. Conduct electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems within small engines and electrical equipment. Maintain and repair power generation systems, generators. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other specialized equipment to execute repairs accurately. Follow safety procedures during manual handling, heavy lifting, welding, electrical work, and equipment maintenance tasks. Communicate effectively with our parts and service team regarding repair status, maintenance needs, and technical issues to ensure excellent customer service. Answer phones and assist customers when needed. Qualifications Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or automotive repair background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, electrical systems, diesel engine repair, and power generation systems. Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals for troubleshooting complex mechanical issues. Hands-on experience with electrical diagnostics, wiring repairs, soldering, welding, and equipment troubleshooting. Familiarity with maintenance procedures including engine repair and small engine maintenance tasks. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanic's tools essential for repairs. Excellent manual handling skills with the ability to lift heavy components safely during repairs or maintenance tasks. Strong customer service skills combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
