Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Marine Technician to join our team. This position is focused on outboard motor service and repair along with 12-volt electrical system diagnosis and repair on boats. The right candidate will be confident working independently, capable of handling advanced troubleshooting, and committed to producing clean, reliable, high-quality work. This is a senior-level role for a technician who can take ownership of jobs from start to finish, accurately diagnose issues, recommend proper repairs, and complete work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, service, and repair on outboard engines
Complete routine maintenance including 100-hour, 300-hour, and annual services
Diagnose and repair fuel, ignition, cooling, steering, trim, and rigging issues
Troubleshoot and repair 12V DC electrical systems on boats
Diagnose issues involving batteries, charging systems, pumps, switches, relays, breakers, lighting, and accessories
Identify voltage drops, bad grounds, corrosion, failed components, and intermittent electrical faults
Read and interpret wiring diagrams and service manuals
Install and repair pumps, chargers, battery systems, power poles, lighting, and other marine electrical accessories
Document findings, repairs performed, and recommended repairs clearly and accurately
Inspect vessels for related issues and communicate those findings to management or customers
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Support junior technicians when needed and help maintain shop standards Qualifications Strong experience with outboard motor service and repair
Strong experience diagnosing and repairing 12V marine electrical systems
Ability to work independently and manage jobs efficiently
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and present repair solutions
Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Good communication and organizational skills
Ability to use diagnostic tools, multimeters, and service information effectively Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of marine service experience
Experience with Yamaha, Mercury, and Suzuki outboards
Marine manufacturer certifications preferred
NMEA or electrical certifications are a plus
Experience with rigging, hydraulic steering, and marine electronics is a plus What We're Looking For A senior technician who can be trusted to diagnose problems correctly, complete repairs efficiently, and deliver high-quality work with minimal comebacks.
