Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Rental and Small Engine Mechanic, where you will play a vital role in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment, including small engines, lifts and heavy machinery. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with diverse mechanical systems, utilize advanced diagnostic tools, and deliver exceptional service to our customers. Your expertise will ensure equipment operates at peak performance, supporting our commitment to quality and reliability. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on small engines, including lawnmowers, heavy equipment, and other power equipment using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct engine repairs on various types of machinery, including diesel and gasoline engines, ensuring all mechanical systems are functioning optimally. Troubleshoot electrical issues utilizing electrical diagnostic tools and schematics. Maintain and service equipment through regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to extend lifespan and ensure safety standards are met. Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Assist customers by providing expert advice on equipment maintenance, repairs, and sales of parts or accessories. Handle manual lifting of heavy equipment or parts safely while following proper manual handling procedures. Document all repair activities accurately in service records; communicate effectively with team members regarding technical issues. Qualifications Proven experience working as a mechanic in a dealership or service environment with a strong background in small engine repair and heavy equipment repair. Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, hydraulics and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems. Hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, gas engine repair, and heavy equipment maintenance and repair. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical repair tools. Knowledge of mechanical systems such as engines, transmissions, electrical wiring, power systems, and hydraulics. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work physically demanding tasks consistently. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients in written form along with typing. Dealership experience or service technician background is highly preferred; familiarity with Kubota equipment is a plus. Certifications related to automotive, heavy equipment or small engine repair are advantageous; ongoing training in electrical diagnostics or welding is beneficial. Pay:
$18.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
