In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and service small engines and related mechanical systems, ensuring optimal performance for a variety of equipment including lawnmowers, generators, and weed eaters and pressure washers. Your expertise will help customers keep their equipment running smoothly throughout the year. This paid position offers opportunities to develop your mechanical knowledge and work with a diverse range of machinery. Responsibilities Diagnose issues with small engines, power generation systems, and mechanical components using schematics and diagnostic tools Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on small engines and electrical diagnostics Troubleshoot electrical systems and wiring within equipment to identify faults and implement effective solutions Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble machinery safely and efficiently Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to move equipment or parts as needed for repairs or maintenance Follow safety protocols during all repair activities, including electrical work and mechanical systems repair Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and work logs for each job performed Experience Previous dealership experience or service technician background in small engine or automotive repair highly preferred Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing small engines, generators, or similar equipment Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for equipment maintenance and repair Any familiarity with the Bob Clements repair check system would useful for familiarization with the work flow system. Ability to use a computer and phone for pictures of units and to record data on jobs performed.
