Craft and Technical Solutions is an established Marine and Industrial Staffing Company with offices all over the country. We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of water transportation equipment, including marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical and electrical expertise, with a focus on ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of marine vessels. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics of marine engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components using schematics, technical drawings, and diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and calipers. Conduct repairs and maintenance on marine propulsion systems, electrical wiring, rigging, sheet metal fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly tasks. Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of marine equipment. Interpret technical manuals and schematics to troubleshoot electrical issues within ship electrical systems and perform electrical diagnostics. Maintain water transportation equipment by replacing worn parts, fabricating components as needed, and ensuring compliance with safety standards using personal protective equipment (PPE). Assist in the fabrication of parts using sheet metal work and precision measuring instruments; perform heavy lifting safely during maintenance procedures. Support ongoing maintenance operations by adhering to safety protocols related to PPE use and MRO (maintenance, repair & operations) best practices. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs while providing excellent customer service through clear communication. Requirements Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or Service Technician with strong mechanical knowledge related to marine engines and propulsion systems. Demonstrated electrical experience including troubleshooting marine electrical systems and performing electrical diagnostics. Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and interpreting engineering troubleshooting guides. Experience working with ship electrical systems maintenance, rigging, welding, soldering, fabrication, and sheet metal work. Knowledge of diesel mechanics along with water transportation equipment maintenance procedures. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, calipers, soldering equipment, welding apparatus, and precision measuring instruments effectively. Prior military experience or background in engineering troubleshooting is advantageous. Strong customer service skills combined with the ability to perform heavy lifting safely. Commitment to safety standards including proper PPE use during all maintenance activities. Experience with maintenance repair operations (MRO), assembly processes, and vehicle or marine engine repair. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
