Duties Perform detailed diagnostics on small engines, including lawnmowers, generators, trimmers, and other power equipment. Repair and overhaul small engines, ensuring all mechanical and electrical components function correctly. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, and filter cleanings to keep equipment in top condition. Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems, wiring issues, and complex mechanical problems. Test repaired equipment for proper operation, making adjustments as necessary to meet quality standards. Maintain accurate service records, documenting repairs performed and parts used for each job. Assist customers by explaining repairs needed and providing maintenance advice to prolong equipment lifespan. Experience Proven dealership experience or service technician background working with small engines or power equipment. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience repairing engines, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Familiarity with schematics, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting complex systems. Experience with diesel engine repair is a plus but not required; automotive repair skills are highly valued. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and equipment maintenance procedures. Ability to lift heavy components safely during manual handling tasks; physical stamina is essential. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs and maintenance needs.
