You will work directly alongside Marine Technicians, supporting engine handling, rigging preparation, forklift operations, boat staging, and yard organization. When this role is strong, the entire shop runs more efficiently — technicians stay productive, turnaround times improve, and boats move through the process faster. Key Responsibilities (This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties. Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on business needs.) Safely operate forklifts and yard equipment to move boats and trailers throughout the dealership. Safely operate company vehicles to tow boats to and from waterways, customer's homes, sublet facilities, etc. Assist with engine repowers, maintenance, and services Support rigging preparation and installation Stage boats for service, diagnostics, delivery, and customer pickup Prepare service bays to ensure technicians have the tools and setup needed to stay efficient Maintain yard organization, equipment readiness, and workflow efficiency Assist with boat detailing and final preparation when needed Support heavy-lift tasks and shop coordination during peak service periods Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment Utilize Lightspeed Mobile when performing service-related tasks Why This Role Matters This position directly impacts technician productivity, service turnaround time, and overall department performance. You will be trusted with valuable equipment, precision handling of engines and vessels, and maintaining the pace of daily operations. This is a physical, team-driven role that requires awareness, reliability, and pride in your work.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past 4-5 years required Experience operating forklifts or similar heavy equipment preferred Previous experience in marine, automotive, mechanical, or industrial environments strongly preferred Comfortable working outdoors in Texas conditions Ability to safely handle heavy components and equipment Strong work ethic and team-oriented mindset Detail-oriented and safety-conscious Schedule Expected schedule: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, five days per week Minimum of every other Saturday required (additional Saturdays as needed based on business demand) If you're looking for a hands-on role where your work directly impacts shop performance and customer satisfaction, we encourage you to apply and join the Boater's World team at BWGP
