Marine Mechanic Tidewater Staffing - 3.7 Chesapeake, VA Job Details Full-time $41,604 - $72,082 a year 1 day ago Qualifications Pneumatic systems Full Job Description We are seeking skilled Shipyard Mechanics and Maintenance Technicians to support shipbuilding, repair, and maintenance operations. The ideal candidates will have hands-on mechanical experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a shipyard or industrial environment. Key Responsibilities Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on shipyard machinery, mechanical systems, and industrial equipment. Inspect, service, and replace components on pumps, valves, motors, compressors, cranes, and other shipyard tools/equipment. Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation of machinery. Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete tasks accurately. Follow safety protocols, OSHA standards, and shipyard policies at all times. Assist with mechanical installation, alignment, and testing during shipbuilding and repair projects. Document maintenance activities and report any hazards, issues, or needed repairs. Qualifications Previous experience as a mechanic, maintenance technician, or similar role (shipyard/industrial preferred). Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics. Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, climb, and work in confined spaces as required. Willingness to work overtime, shifts, or weekends as shipyard schedules demand. Preferred but Not Required Shipyard, Navy, or industrial maintenance background.
OSHA-10 / OSHA-30
