Job Description

Tidewater Mulch & Material, Inc. is looking for an experienced Small Engine / 2-Cycle Mechanic to join our team in Chesapeake, Virginia. We are a family-owned and operated business serving Chesapeake and the surrounding Tidewater area since 1989. In addition to landscape materials, plants, and supplies, Tidewater Mulch & Material is a full-service outdoor power equipment dealer and repair center. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing small engines and outdoor power equipment , including lawn mowers, riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, blowers, weed eaters/string trimmers, chainsaws, edgers, and other 2-cycle and 4-cycle equipment. Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical and engine problems on small-engine equipment. Repair and service push mowers, riding mowers, zero-turn mowers, blowers, weed eaters/string trimmers, chainsaws, edgers, and similar outdoor power equipment. Perform routine maintenance, tune-ups, oil changes, blade replacement/sharpening, belt replacement, filter replacement, and other preventive maintenance. Troubleshoot fuel, ignition, electrical, starting, and mechanical problems. Inspect equipment to identify needed repairs and replacement parts. Properly document repairs performed and parts used. Maintain an organized and safe work area. Communicate repair needs and equipment condition to appropriate staff. Help maintain commonly used repair parts and shop supplies. Follow company safety procedures when operating, testing, and repairing equipment.
Pay:
$20.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 45.0 per week
