Job Description

Structural Supervisor - Marine Ship Repair Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Structural Supervisor to lead ship repair and fabrication projects in a fast-paced marine environment. This role is responsible for overseeing structural work on vessels, ensuring quality, safety, and schedule adherence while leading a skilled workforce. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily structural repair and fabrication activities on marine vessels and components Lead and coordinate welders, fitters, and labor crews to meet production goals Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications Ensure all work meets quality standards, contract requirements, and regulatory compliance Enforce safety procedures and maintain a strong safety culture across the team Coordinate with Project Managers, QA, and Production teams to drive project success Monitor progress, resolve issues in real-time, and adjust manpower as needed Support inspections, testing, and turnover processes Submittal of Condition Found Reports (CFRs) either to the Trade Manager for review or directly to the Project Manager. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in ship repair and fabrication Previous supervisory or foreman experience required Strong knowledge of structural welding, fitting, and fabrication processes Ability to read and interpret ship drawings and technical specs Experience working in shipyards or on naval/commercial vessels preferred Familiarity with QA/QC processes and safety regulations (OSHA, NAVSEA) Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items, WAFs Process (JFMM). Obtain and maintain access to all Shipyards and Bases including DBIDS. Must have Microsoft Office Software experience (Excel and PDF is a must). Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and seek help with weights over 50 pounds. Ability to climb stairs, vertical ladders, and staging. Work in different spaces/compartments i.e. confined, enclosed and open spaces, tanks, voids. Ability to work at heights and on uneven surfaces. Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. Required to wear PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel toe boots, and hearing protection. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This position has exposure to loud noises, hazardous chemicals/fumes and airborne particles, smoke, extreme temperatures.
