Responsibilities Perform detailed diagnostics on small engines and power equipment using schematics and electrical diagnostics tools Repair and overhaul small engines, including engine repair, electrical work, and mechanical systems repair Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups to ensure optimal performance Troubleshoot equipment issues through electrical diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to identify root causes efficiently Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and other specialized equipment to complete repairs accurately Follow safety protocols during heavy lifting and manual handling tasks to maintain a safe work environment Communicate clearly with customers about repair needs and maintenance procedures to enhance customer service experience Skills Proven dealership experience or service technician experience with small engines or outdoor power equipment Strong mechanical knowledge of engine systems, electrical systems, and power generation systems Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical diagnostics and equipment repair Experience with diesel engine repair is a plus; familiarity with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery is advantageous Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and diagnostic testing devices Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients Physical capability for heavy lifting and manual handling required for equipment maintenance tasks This role is perfect for motivated technicians eager to expand their expertise in small engine maintenance while delivering exceptional service.
