Harley-Davidson Service Technician Skyline Harley-Davidson — Winchester, Virginia Skyline Harley-Davidson is looking for a skilled, dependable Motorcycle Service Technician to join our Service Department. We understand something that is sometimes overlooked in this business: A good technician cannot reach their potential without the right support around them. Productivity is not just about the person turning the wrench. It depends on scheduling, parts availability, communication, service advising, management, workflow, training, and having the right systems in place. We have worked hard to strengthen those areas at Skyline Harley-Davidson, and we are continuing to invest in our Fixed Operations team. We are looking for a technician who cares about doing quality work, wants to be productive, takes pride in their craft, and wants to continue developing professionally. Experienced Harley-Davidson technicians are strongly encouraged to apply. We are also interested in talking with experienced technicians from other motorcycle brands and promising developing technicians with strong fundamentals and the right attitude. What You'll Do Perform scheduled maintenance on Harley-Davidson motorcycles Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns Perform engine, drivetrain, chassis, suspension, brake, and electrical repairs Install Harley-Davidson Genuine Parts & Accessories Perform customization and performance-related work Conduct inspections and identify maintenance and safety needs Complete repair orders accurately and thoroughly Document diagnostic findings and work performed Communicate clearly with Service Advisors and the Service Manager Work with Parts to identify and obtain required components Follow Harley-Davidson procedures, specifications, and service information Maintain an organized and professional work area Protect customer motorcycles while they are in our care Participate in quality-control processes Complete required training and continue developing technical knowledge Meet reasonable productivity, proficiency, quality, and attendance expectations What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong mechanical aptitude Professional work habits Attention to detail Diagnostic discipline Good documentation habits Dependability Pride in workmanship Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality Willingness to accept coaching and feedback Ability to work effectively with Service Advisors, Parts personnel, management, and other technicians Commitment to customer safety Desire to continue learning Preferred Qualifications Previous Harley-Davidson dealership experience Harley-Davidson technical training or certifications Motorcycle technician experience MMI or comparable motorcycle technical education Electrical diagnostic experience Current motorcycle endorsement Valid driver's license Personal tools appropriate for professional motorcycle repair Harley-Davidson experience is strongly preferred, but we are willing to consider qualified technicians from other motorcycle brands and developing technicians who demonstrate the right skills, work ethic, and potential. Compensation Our technician compensation structure is designed to reward both stability and productivity. Technicians are paid either hourly or flat rate with a proficiency bonus. Hourly compensation + monthly proficiency bonus Sample monthly proficiency bonus opportunity: 85

  • 139% proficiency: +$ per flagged hour 140%+ proficiency: +$ per flagged hour Final hourly rate will depend on experience, technical ability, training, and certifications.

Skyline Harley-Davidson is committed to supporting technician development through Harley-Davidson training, online technical education, coaching, and hands-on experience. We also intend to provide each technician the opportunity to attend one instructor-led Harley-Davidson technician training class per year, depending on Harley-Davidson class availability, scheduling, qualification requirements, and training rotation. For technicians who want to build a long-term career, training matters, and we intend to invest in it.
