Position Overview The Certified Marine Service Technician is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repair, and overhaul of boats, engines, and marine systems. This role is for highly skilled, experienced, and certified marine technicians who can confidently service a wide range of inboard, outboard, and stern drive engines, electrical systems, and marine accessories. The position reports to the Service Manager. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Examine boats and communicate clearly with the Service Manager regarding repairs or malfunctions
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repair on all types of marine engines, transmissions, outdrives, and generators
- Service and repair a wide range of marine systems including: ○
Engines:
oil changes, tune-ups, impellers, thermostat service, alignments ○Drives:
outdrive service, gear lube changes, transom service ○Electrical:
rewire ignition systems, dash systems, electronics, and lighting ○ Fuel and cooling systems: pumps, fuel lines, blowers ○ Marine systems: air conditioning, heads, water systems ○Accessories:
install and repair radios, stereos, marine electronics, tower speakers- Remove and reinstall engines, outdrives, and transom assemblies
- Safely operate hydraulic jacks, hoists, and forklifts during service operations
- Conduct diagnostic water testing of customer boats to ensure quality repairs
- Maintain Jerry's Majestic Marine tools and equipment in good condition
- Stay current with all industry certifications and manufacturer guidelines
- Complete repair work efficiently within the service documentation guidelines
- Ensure all warranty work meets manufacturer and Jerry's Majestic standards
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Other duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements
- Extensive marine service experience with inboard, outboard, and stern drive engines
- Current marine industry certifications strongly preferred
- Strong background in electrical, fuel, cooling, and mechanical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and technical issues
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, and service software
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong communication skills and customer-first mindset
