Commercial Tire / Field Service Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and dependable Field Service Commercial Tire Technician to provide mobile tire service, repair, replacement, and installation throughout Alaska. This is a hands-on field position supporting commercial trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, industrial equipment, and other vehicles operating in demanding environments. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently in remote locations and challenging weather conditions. This position requires statewide travel, outdoor work in all seasons, and the ability to respond to scheduled and unscheduled field-service needs. Primary Responsibilities Perform field service, repair, replacement, mounting, dismounting, and installation of commercial tires of various sizes and applications. Service tires on commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, buses, construction equipment, industrial equipment, and other heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Diagnose tire failures, air leaks, valve and wheel issues, irregular wear, and other tire-related problems. Perform tire repairs in accordance with applicable industry standards and company procedures. Inspect tires, wheels, rims, valve assemblies, and related components for damage, wear, and unsafe conditions. Properly inflate tires to specified pressures and verify serviceability before returning equipment to operation. Perform roadside and field-service calls, including work at customer facilities, jobsites, terminals, yards, highways, and remote Alaska locations. Safely operate service trucks, tire-handling equipment, jacks, impact tools, compressors, hydraulic equipment, and other tire-service tools. Maintain service vehicle, tools, equipment, and tire inventory in clean, safe, and serviceable condition. Complete work orders, inspection documentation, service records, customer paperwork, and other required documentation accurately and promptly. Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, supervisors, drivers, and other personnel. Follow company safety policies, customer site requirements, and applicable

safety requirements. Maintain safe work zones around disabled or stationary equipment, including appropriate use of warning devices and traffic-control equipment. Perform other tire, fleet, shop, or field-service duties as assigned. Alaska Travel & Working Conditions This is a statewide field-service position . Candidates must be willing and able to travel throughout Alaska based on operational and customer needs.

Work may include:

Extended travel away from home. Travel to remote communities, industrial sites, construction projects, oilfield operations, and other locations throughout Alaska. Driving service vehicles for extended distances. Working outdoors in extreme cold, snow, ice, wind, rain, darkness, and other adverse weather conditions. Working around active commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, industrial operations, and highway traffic. Working irregular schedules when required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency or after-hours service calls. Working independently in remote locations where immediate assistance may not be available. Employees must be prepared with appropriate PPE and clothing for Alaska weather and jobsite conditions.

Qualifications Required:

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Commercial tire service, automotive tire service, heavy-equipment maintenance, mechanical, or similar hands-on experience preferred. Ability and willingness to travel statewide. Ability to safely perform physically demanding work outdoors in Alaska conditions. Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate pneumatic, hydraulic, and hand tools. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in field-service situations. Strong commitment to workplace and roadside safety. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, drivers, supervisors, and coworkers. Ability to follow written procedures, work orders, manufacturer specifications, and safety requirements. Dependable attendance and willingness to work flexible hours based on customer and operational needs.

Preferred:

Previous commercial truck tire or OTR tire service experience. Experience servicing heavy trucks, trailers, construction equipment, loaders, forklifts, or other industrial equipment. Experience performing roadside commercial tire service. Tire Industry Association (TIA) Commercial Tire Service certification or equivalent training. CDL or experience operating larger commercial service vehicles. Experience working in remote Alaska or North Slope environments. Physical Requirements The employee must be able to: Regularly lift, carry, push, pull, position, and manipulate heavy tires, wheels, tools, and equipment. Frequently bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, reach, and work from awkward positions. Safely use mechanical and hydraulic lifting equipment when handling tires and wheel assemblies that exceed safe manual-handling limits. Work on uneven, icy, snowy, muddy, or otherwise challenging surfaces. Work outdoors for extended periods in extreme temperatures and adverse weather. Safely enter and exit service vehicles, trucks, trailers, and equipment. Wear required PPE, including safety footwear, gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, high-visibility apparel, and other site-specific equipment. Safety Expectations Safety is a core responsibility of this position. The technician is expected to follow established procedures for tire inflation, wheel and rim servicing, lifting and supporting vehicles, lockout/tagout when applicable, roadside work, and operation of service equipment. The technician must recognize unsafe tire, wheel, and rim conditions and have the judgment to stop work when a condition cannot be safely serviced. Proper restraint devices, remote inflation equipment, PPE, and other required safety equipment must be used when applicable. Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will be a self-sufficient field technician who takes pride in completing work safely and correctly the first time .
