Your primary responsibility will be inspecting, preparing, TIG welding, finishing, and leak-testing damaged aluminum wheels. You will work directly with our wheel-straightening, preparation, refinishing, powder-coating, and CNC teams to complete safe, high-quality repairs. Direct aluminum-wheel welding experience is strongly preferred. However, we will consider highly skilled aluminum TIG welders from aerospace, automotive, fabrication, marine, manufacturing, or other precision environments who are willing to learn wheel-specific repair procedures. This is not a general structural-steel welding position. Precision aluminum TIG ability is essential. Schedule Monday-Friday:
8:30 AM-5:30 PM Saturday rotation required Overtime available based on production needs Primary Responsibilities Inspect aluminum wheels for cracks, bends, corrosion, previous repairs, and other damage Determine whether a damaged wheel is suitable for repair Identify and escalate wheels that should not be repaired Prepare cracks properly before welding TIG weld aluminum wheels using controlled, repeatable procedures Maintain proper heat control, penetration, and weld consistency Grind, blend, and finish welded areas without unnecessary material removal Coordinate with the wheel-straightening technician when a wheel has both cracks and bends Perform air and leak testing after repairs Verify that repairs meet established structural and cosmetic standards Document completed repairs and quality-control results Protect wheel faces, tires, valve stems, sensors, and customer property Maintain welding equipment, tools, consumables, and work areas Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment Support production goals without sacrificing safety or quality Assist with other wheel-repair processes after training Help document and improve welding and repair SOPs Required Qualifications Professional aluminum TIG welding experience Ability to produce clean, consistent welds on aluminum Experience with crack preparation, cleaning, heat control, penetration, and finish work Ability to inspect your own work and recognize welding defects Strong attention to detail Commitment to safety and quality Dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to work independently and as part of a production team Ability to communicate problems clearly to technicians and management Willingness to complete a paid, hands-on welding assessment Ability to work the stated schedule and Saturday rotation Preferred Experience Experience in any of the following is valuable but not required: Aluminum alloy-wheel repair Cracked-wheel diagnosis Wheel straightening Air and leak testing Automotive refinishing Grinding and cosmetic finish correction CNC wheel machining Powder coating Tire mounting and balancing High-volume repair or manufacturing environments Quality-control documentation Equipment and Work Environment You will work with professional equipment and materials, including: Miller TIG welding equipment F30PRO Signature Series wheel straightener Lehigh CNC wheel lathe Professional wheel-repair and inspection tools Powder-coating and refinishing equipment Premium repair and refinishing materials Our department currently processes approximately 80 wheels per week across retail customers, commercial accounts, showroom inventory, and OEM e-commerce orders.
