Job Description
Discount Tire is seeking a Tire Technician to join our Automotive team. In this on-site role, you'll mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires while delivering safe, efficient service. You'll perform basic vehicle and tire inspections, operate shop equipment, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Working closely with teammates, you'll assist customers with tire questions, explain services, and support store operations. Responsibilities Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires and wheels on passenger and light trucks Perform visual safety inspections on tires, wheels, and basic vehicle components Operate lifts, jacks, and related shop equipment safely and correctly Follow all safety protocols, maintaining a clean and organized work area Assist customers with basic tire questions and service explanations Support inventory tasks, including unloading deliveries and stocking tires and wheels Accurately document services performed and support POS transactions Collaborate with team members to meet service and quality standards Report any safety concerns or vehicle issues to supervisors promptly Required Skills Tire mounting and balancing Tire repair and patching Vehicle lifting and jack operation Torque wrench usage TPMS basics Safety procedures and OSHA awareness Basic vehicle inspection Inventory stocking and organization Customer communication Point-of-sale support
