Job Description
Tire Technician / Shop Helper Skyline Harley-Davidson | Winchester, VA $15-$17 per hour | Full-Time Do you enjoy motorcycles, working with your hands, and being around a shop environment? Skyline Harley-Davidson is looking for a dependable, hard-working Tire Technician / Shop Helper to join our Service Department. This is an entry-level position with an opportunity to learn and grow. Your primary responsibilities will be performing motorcycle tire work and helping keep our Service Department running efficiently. You'll work alongside our Harley-Davidson technicians, assist them when needed, wash and move motorcycles, help maintain the shop, make occasional pickups and deliveries, and take care of the everyday tasks that help our technicians stay productive. If you prove that you can consistently perform tire work safely, accurately, and efficiently, there will be opportunities to learn additional motorcycle service and maintenance work. What You'll Do Remove and install motorcycle wheels and tires Mount and balance motorcycle tires Properly torque wheels and related components Check and adjust tire pressures Assist technicians with repairs and service work Retrieve parts, tools, and supplies for technicians Help move motorcycles in and out of the shop Wash and clean customer motorcycles Prepare completed motorcycles for customer pickup Make motorcycle or parts pickups and deliveries as needed Load and unload motorcycles safely Help maintain dealership and service vehicles and trailers Keep the Service Department, work areas, and shop clean and organized Empty trash and handle general shop cleanup Clean tools and equipment Help receive and put away shop supplies Assist the Service Manager and technicians with other shop duties as needed This is a hands-on position. Some days you'll be changing tires. Other days you may be washing motorcycles, helping a technician, moving bikes, cleaning the shop, or making a delivery. Everyone in the department helps wherever they're needed. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Is dependable and shows up on time Has a strong work ethic Enjoys working with their hands Has basic mechanical aptitude Can follow instructions and established procedures Pays attention to detail Takes pride in doing a job correctly Is willing to learn and accept coaching Understands the importance of safety Takes care when handling customers' motorcycles Is comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment Is willing to clean, wash motorcycles, and help wherever needed Works well as part of a team Previous motorcycle, automotive, powersports, tire shop, or mechanical experience is helpful, but not required for the right person. Requirements Valid driver's license Acceptable driving record Ability to safely lift and handle motorcycle wheels, tires, tools, and equipment Ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift, and work on your feet throughout the day Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday Motorcycle endorsement and riding experience are preferred, but not required Schedule Full-Time Tuesday through Saturday Skyline Harley-Davidson is closed Sunday and Monday. Pay $15-$17 per hour , depending on experience and mechanical ability.
