EMEGC offers a wide range of services and turnkey solutions in telecommunications construction including general and electrical construction as well as design and specialty services throughout the state of Florida. EMEGC's telecommunications construction services include full telecommunications site construction, pole and tower construction, installation of various carriers as well as service and support for those carriers. Electrical Tech Position Overview:
As a Civil / Electrical Technician you will be working in a team environment assisting with projects, which may include: new site builds, raw-lands, generator upgrades and roof tops. Daily activities may include on-site installation, repair, and modification. You will be gaining knowledge in effectively utilizing tools, technology, and other resources to perform power upgrades, generator adds, concrete pads, trenching, grounding, cabinet sets and running conduits. You will be expected to follow all safety requirements set forth by Federal, State, Industry and EMEGC regulations at all elevations. Position is supervised by Foreman and/or Field Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
• Participate in and assist in carrying out installation, repair, modification, optimization, or acceptance test procedures of civil and electrical equipment. Install, connect and test underground and above-ground grounding systems Moderate flat-work concrete forming, pouring and finishing. Landscaping, grading, and fence building as necessary. Install, Conduit, H-frames, Ice Bridge and Electrical Services. Responsible for operating excavation and backfill equipment safely Occasionally perform lead responsibilities in absence of a Foreman, effectively interfacing with all levels of management, staff, and customers Ability to recommend changes, installation techniques, and/or aid in discussion to site layout/repairs Assist Foreman with tools, repairs, and material take offs Complete assigned tasks within project scope accurately and efficiently Strict attention to detail and organization; enabling timely task completion focusing on the quality of workmanship Pick up/delivery of supplies, tools, equipment, components, etc. Maintain clean, orderly environment adhering to company policies and industry regulation/standard(s) (OSHA) • Observe project sites for defects and safety hazards that may require attention Attend vendor and in-house training and participate in certification programs as necessary
Requirements:
• H.S. Diploma/GED preferred; and 3+ years of recent tower civil / electrical experience. Ability to assist the foreman and run all aspects of the site with minimal supervision, while continuing to learn from experience. Knowledge and ability to read blueprints, details and specifications required Commercial/residential/ telecommunication electrical experience preferred Cellular tower grounding experience preferred Proficiency with the use and maintenance of hand and power tools, equipment, and precision measuring and/or test equipment common to electrical trade Effectively interface with all levels of management, staff, and customers Pass the following pre-employment screenings: background check, drug test, and physical examination Maintain certifications: such as: CPR/First Aid/AED, Blood Borne Pathogens, OSHA 30, Radiofrequency (RF) Awareness, Crane Signals, LOTO, Heat & Cold Stress, and Rigger Ability to travel up to 2 weeks at a time. Be available for evening, weekends, and rotational assignments; accepting on-call responsibilities. Possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
