Experienced Civil Technicians Based in the Midwest About TCE At Tower Communications Expert (TCE), we build the infrastructure that keeps people connected. Position Summary The Civil Crew plays a critical role in supporting TCE's telecommunications construction projects, including new tower builds, modifications, and site development. This hands-on team is responsible for ground preparation, concrete work, trenching, conduit installation, grounding, and general site cleanup. Civil Crew Members work closely with the Tower, Electrical, and RF teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and according to TCE's quality standards. Key Responsibilities Assist with the installation and construction of tower foundations, shelters, and site compounds. Operate hand and power tools, skid steers, mini excavators, trenchers, and other construction equipment. Perform concrete forming, pouring, and finishing. Install conduits, grounding systems, rebar cages, and fencing as directed. Load, unload, and organize materials, tools, and equipment at job sites. Maintain a clean and safe work environment while following TCE's safety procedures and OSHA standards. Work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors to complete daily tasks efficiently. Travel to job sites throughout the Midwest and neighboring states as required. Overnight stays may be necessary. Promptly report equipment issues, hazards, or site concerns to the Civil Foreman.
Qualifications Experience:
1-3 years of general construction or civil telecom work preferred
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certifications:
OSHA 10 (required or ability to obtain); First Aid/CPR and CDL a plus
Skills:
Basic understanding of concrete, grading, and underground utilities Ability to read site plans and follow construction drawings Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to safely operate light and heavy equipment Willingness to travel and work outdoors in various weather conditions Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 lbs regularly Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing Comfortable working in outdoor environments for extended periods Why Join TCE Competitive pay based on experience Travel per diem and paid lodging for overnight projects
