Job Description

About Us We are a specialized engineering and technical services firm dedicated to providing high-quality structural inspections, accurate mapping, and precision engineering solutions for the telecommunication, broadcast, public safety/911, and sports and area lighting industries. We are a tight-knit, small business, we emphasize safety, and delivering accurate field data to our clients. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Tower Climber to join our field services team and grow with us. Job Summary As a Tower Climber, you will be the backbone of our field data collection. This role goes beyond just climbing; responsible for conducting structural inspections and detailed mappings of various tower types. You will collect critical field data, ensure it is seamlessly organized and uploaded, and collaborate with our engineering team to support the final reporting process.
Key Responsibilities:
Tower Climbing & Safety:
Safely ascend, descend, and work at heights on various communication structures (monopoles, self-support, guyed towers) while strictly adhering to OSHA and company safety standards.
Field Inspection & Mapping:
Conduct thorough structural and equipment inspections. Map out tower geometry, antenna configurations, feedlines, and structural components.
Data Collection:
Utilize specialized tools, software, and cameras to accurately capture field measurements.
Data Management:
Organize all field notes, measurements, and promptly upload the data to company servers for engineering review.
Report Support:
Assist the engineering team by reviewing collected data, clarifying field findings, and contributing to the draft and final assembly of structural inspection and mapping reports.
Job Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum of 0-3 years of professional tower climbing experience.
Certifications:
Valid Authorized or Certified Climber/Rescue certification. Valid OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card. (We can provide training for certifications.)
Physical Fitness:
Ability to climb structures ranging from 100 to 500+ feet, work in various weather conditions, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
Technical Savvy:
Proficiency with smartphones, digital cameras, and cloud storage platforms for field data collection and uploads.
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to document field conditions clearly and support report writing.
Travel & Licensing:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and a willingness to travel extensively for field assignments. Preferred (Plus Factors): Experience with telecom hardware identification (antennas, RRUs, mounts). FAA Part 107 Commercial Drone Pilot License (a major plus for aerial inspection support). Familiarity with reading structural drawings.
