Job Description
Traviss Technical College is seeking a full-time and part-time knowledgeable and experienced Control Tower Operator to prepare students for careers in the aviation industry. The ideal candidate will bring real-world air traffic control experience, a commitment to student success, and a passion for developing the next generation of air traffic control professionals. As a Control Tower Operator Instructor, you will provide classroom, simulation, and hands-on instruction in air traffic control operations, tower procedures, aviation regulations, communication protocols, airspace management, and industry best practices. The instructor will create engaging learning experiences that prepare students for employment while promoting safety, professionalism, and technical excellence. Deliver classroom, simulation-based, and practical instruction in air traffic control concepts and tower operations. Facilitate and evaluate student performance using air traffic control simulation technology and scenario-based training exercises. Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with Florida Department of Education, FAA, and industry standards. Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback to support skill development. Maintain accurate student records and required program documentation. Foster a positive, professional, and safety-focused learning environment. Incorporate current aviation technologies, procedures, and industry practices into instruction. Collaborate with college administration and industry partners to support student success and workforce readiness. Maintain program equipment, simulation systems, instructional materials, and safety standards.
