Our Opportunity:
We are seeking a Full-Time Road Ranger , to join our team.
Salary:
$20.00/hour Road Ranger / Safety Patrol Operator Position Summary Road Ranger Operators provide emergency roadside assistance on Florida highways while helping keep traffic moving safely. Operators patrol assigned routes, assist stranded motorists, establish temporary traffic control, remove roadway hazards, and work alongside the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), Traffic Management Centers (TMC), fire rescue, law enforcement, and towing partners during roadway incidents. This is an independent, safety-sensitive position requiring sound judgment, professionalism, and a strong commitment to customer service. Primary Responsibilities Patrol assigned highway routes and identify roadway hazards. Respond to disabled vehicles, crashes, and emergency roadway incidents. Set up and maintain safe Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) using cones, arrow boards, and other traffic control devices. Provide minor roadside assistance, including tire changes, jump starts, fuel assistance, and basic vehicle troubleshooting. Remove roadway debris and assist with safely relocating disabled vehicles. Communicate effectively with the TMC and emergency response partners. Complete electronic reports and document incident activities accurately. Perform daily vehicle and equipment inspections. Deliver professional, courteous assistance to stranded motorists. Preferred Qualifications Experience in towing, roadside assistance, incident management, traffic control, transportation, public works, utilities, military, emergency services, or a related field. Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform basic vehicle repairs and roadside assistance. Experience operating safely around moving traffic and following established safety procedures. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently. Minimum Requirements Valid driver's license with a safe driving history and the ability to meet company and contract MVR standards. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background screening and obtain a Florida Special Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) clearance. Ability to pass all pre-employment screening requirements, including drug testing. Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required. Ideal Candidate We're looking for dependable, mechanically inclined professionals who enjoy helping people, work well without direct supervision, remain calm under pressure, and take pride in keeping Florida's roadways safe. Previous towing or roadside assistance experience is a plus, but we welcome candidates with transferable skills from transportation, public safety, military, construction, utilities, or other hands-on industries.
