Job Description

This is a PAID summer internship position, for college students currently enrolled in a construction related program, preferably Construction Management. This is a Full-Time summer employment commitment, and students may be expected to work some nights and weekends. Students selected, will work for C.W. Matthews for around 8 WEEKS getting valuable exposure to the heavy highway construction trade and to C.W. Matthews. - Students that are selected for ALL internship positions MUST have: A driver's license A dependable vehicle to get them to the job site every day A desire for a career in the construction industry A strong work ethic, a great attitude, and a teachable spirit Collège
Summer Internship:
If an intern works more than 40 hours in a week, they will get paid time and a half for every hour worked over 40 hours. Selected applicants will be placed in one of the company's operating divisions to begin their training in a construction trade. The duties of this position are continually changing depending on the requirements of each project. The position consists of but is not limited to the following duties. Flagging traffic. Set up and maintenance of erosion control. Loading and unloading of materials. Shoveling and raking dirt, gravel, and asphalt. General clean up around job site. Checking and maintaining grade stakes. Set up and maintenance of all traffic control aids. Operating small equipment such as a skid steer. General maintenance of all equipment and tools.
